How does Log Test get paid?
Log Test gets paid a flat introduction fee by the provider for each person we introduce. The fee is the same whether you invest the minimum or far more. We don't take a share of your annual fee or of any returns you make.
Does the fee change what I pay?
The fee doesn't change what you pay. The provider charges you the same published fees whether you arrive through Log Test, another website or directly. Our fee comes out of the provider's own marketing budget, not out of your investment, and it isn't added to your account as a separate charge.
You can check this yourself: compare the fees shown on our fees page with the ones on the provider's own website. They should match. If they don't, please tell us.
How do we stop the fee biasing what we write?
We stop the fee biasing our pages with a few fixed rules. We always publish the risks and say who should skip the product, and we show fees in money rather than only as percentages. And because the fee is flat, we gain nothing from encouraging anyone to invest more.
- Every money page carries a section on who the product doesn't suit.
- Fees are shown in money, with a worked example, not only as a percentage.
- The provider can correct facts but can't approve our wording on risk or suitability.
- We don't accept payment for reviews, rankings or placement.
- We don't call the product the best, because we haven't compared every alternative.
What does this mean for you?
For you, it means reading our pages with the fee in mind. We're not independent of the provider, and we don't compare the whole market. Use our pages to understand the managed portfolio, but if you want a recommendation across all your options, speak to an independent financial adviser who isn't paid by any provider.
Our partner disclosure gives the formal version of this page.
